What is video gait analysis?
Video gait analysis uses slow motion recordings of a runner or walker on a treadmill. These recordings are then used to analyze the individual's stride. 2D motion analysis software allows your physical therapist to measure/view the stride and measure angles at key points during the gait cycle.
For runners, injury prevention and consistency of training are the keys to improving performance and maintaining short-term and long-term health. At Physical Therapy ONE, we offer slow motion video gait analysis to analyze a runner or walker's stride. Using this information, we can educate you on: proper footwear, areas of muscle strength and flexibility that require improvement, and tips to improve running form.
Who would benefit?
- injury free runners and walkers of all ages(proper running form and the correct footwear are crucial to consistent training and injury prevention)
- injured runners and walkers(whether you are dealing with a recent injury or a long-term ache or pain, correcting walking form, wearing proper footwear and stretching/strengthening key muscles can help to speed recovery and get you back to doing what you love!)
